Why Do We Exist? Well, it’s personal...
Growing up in care, I spent a lot of time feeling like decisions were being made about me, around me, and always without me.
Founder Rees Davis-Campbell
What changed things was meeting a few people who actually listened. People who saw more in me than the situation I was in. They taught me, introduced me to new things and made me think a bit bigger about what my life could look like.
Bee N Spired came from that.
I created Bee N Spired to be that turning point for others.
I wanted to build the kind of place I would have needed back then. Somewhere care-experienced young people could try things they had never had access to, meet people outside their usual circles, build skills and start seeing more options for themselves.
That might begin with tattooing fake skin, making lip gloss, sequencing DNA or turning up to a Hive Social.
But the point is what can come after.
Qualifications. Mentors. Laptops. University. Jobs. Enterprise. Leadership. New people. New places. More choices.
We are building the doors in, then staying around long enough to see where a Bee wants to go next.
